" | | | Cool Online Tools | | Google Presentations After much anticipation, Google has finally released an addition to their collaborative Google Docs. "Presentations" makes viewing and collaborating on a multimedia presentation together online a breeze. Multiple people can view and make changes at the same time. There's nothing to download; you access your presentations from any computer with an Internet connection and a standard browser. And it's free. | | | Resources for Teachers | | ResearchChannel.org How many videos do you find online really have any educational value? Try ResearchChannel's site to search a variety of quality videos spanning topics such as engineering, health and social sciences. | | | Student Site of the Month | | Quintura for Kids Designed specifically for kids, this new way to search and find information on the Web utilizes the Quintura cloud, which allows kids to find what they are looking for faster and easier than ever before. | | | Grants | | Interactive Makeover Interwrite Learning, in partnership with TeacherTube, announces the company's first video contest to recognize teachers and students for their creativity and use of technology in the classroom. Participants of the contest are asked to create a short music video parodying the song of their choice. The video should demonstrate how different kinds of technology are being used in the classroom. Deadline: October 21, 2007 | | | What's New at the Center |  | First In Math Team Grant - FREE Class Team Subscriptions Suntex International, in partnership with the Center, is making available a grant opportunity for classes (grades 3 through 8) to participate in its online math teams for FREE. Suntex introduced www.firstinmath.com and the First In Math® Online Team concept in 2002. Students play the 24® game online and improve their math fluency with this easy-to-implement program. The “team” approach is a great way to get children excited about math. More than just a fun activity, First In Math® offers substantive content that supports any core curriculum.
