In science, asking questions and defining problems are the first steps to make sense of phenomena. Explanations to such questions are supported by empirical evidence. In engineering, designing solutions begins with defining problems and identifying the criteria and constraints. Join us as we investigate scientific phenomena by asking questions and defining problems, consider qualities of solutions based on set criteria and constraints, develop a design plan, test prototypes and iterate upon design solutions. Participants will get the opportunity to infuse their existing lesson plans with defining problems and designing solutions as a practice.
