Description:
This practical, hands-on workshop will provide ideas and techniques for using the SMART Board in Social Studies classrooms. Come and learn how this exciting technology can help teachers and students in a variety of ways! Participants will learn the features and functions of the SMART Board and the accompanying software that best enhance the social studies curriculum. Teachers will be given hands-on time to apply new skills and will leave this workshop with classroom-ready activities that incorporate the SMART Board.

Objectives:
  • How to use features of SMART Board software including capturing, drawing and adding text
  • How to add speeches and other sounds to SMART Notebook objects
  • How to insert images, maps, graphic organizers and interactive objects to SMART Notebook pages
  • How to use the Spotlight, Magnifier and Screen Shade tools
  • How to use the SMART Video Player
