Description:
This workshop is designed specifically for technology teachers. In the past few years, with the emergence of Web 2.0, Second Life many other new educational technology web applications, it's been a challenge to keep up with the trends. Come spend the day discussing and using aggregators, RSS feeds, podcasts, blogs and digital media. Particiapte in meaningful discussions with representatives from the ed tech community and colleagues from other NJ districts as to the future of technology in education and how to begin assessing our 8th graders on their technology skills..

Objectives:
  • Review new web concepts and trends in education
  • Receive an overview of some of the more useful, free web 2.0 applications available for educators
  • Discuss the NETS standards and how they relate to how we are going to assess our NJ 8th graders by the end of this school year on their technology skills
