Description:
Come and find out about excellent Internet resources that can be used with your SMART Board. During this workshop, dozens of websites that include games, tutorials, virtual manipulatives, and other interactive activities will be shared. Teachers will have hands-on time to review the Internet sites and find subject- and grade-level specific resources that can be implemented immediately in the classroom. Other free applications, such as Speller, Number Cruncher software, and Google Earth will be highlighted. No SMART Board experience is necessary to attend this session.

Objectives:
  • Discover web-based tools, learning activities, and other resources that support active learning
  • Learn how Speller software, a free program, can be used to help students study vocabulary and spelling words at the SMART Board
  • Learn how Number Cruncher software, a free program, can be used for mathematics lessons at the SMART Board
  • Discover ways to use Google Earth, a free application, to explore locations around the world, such as "flying" from place to place, and how to set up a virtual field trip
