Description:
This workshop will model the kind of questioning that helps students develop and construct their solutions. This kind of questioning will be introduced through a series of hands-on instructional activities that develop teacher content and process expertise. The process of better questioning will allow for a deeper understanding of children's' mathematical thinking, and strategies for improving instruction and assessment.

Objectives:
  • Introducing questions that will encourage students to develop their own thinking and build their own mathematics.
  • Using activities that include ways of questioning that affect change change in student performance.
  • Sharing student responses in the classroom so that others can benefit from understanding their explanations.
