Description:
This workshop is designed for teachers who are interested in exploring a variety of activities that will meet the expectations of the Standards and support their preparation for the NJ ASK 5 and 6. The activities will include models of instruction that illustrate ways that students develop and construct their solutions; examples of teacher skills including ways of questioning that affect change in student performance; and an emphasis on the application of knowledge to problems that have students writing responses using rubrics.

Objectives:
  • To use activities that teach to the Standards and prepare students for the NJ ASK.
  • To have students better write responses to open-ended questions using a rubric.
