Description:
Teachers will receive practical strategies, resources, and activities that can be used immediately in their classrooms to prepare students for the science portion of the NJASK4 and NJASK8. This workshop is based on New Jersey's Core Curriculum Content Standards and the published test specifications. We will examine numerous sample test questions, including multiple choice and constructed response, and demonstrate many games that can be used to review for the assessment.

Objectives:
  • Review test specifications and New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards
  • Examine sample tests, both multiple choice and open-ended questions
  • Browse and evaluate on-line science resources for classroom instruction and test preparation
  • Learn how to modify instructional techniques to prepare their students for the state assessments
  • Learn how to create classroom assessments that mirror the state assessments
  • Learn how to make test preparation easy and fun through games and simulations
