Description:
Come join other administrators and teacher leaders as we explore the benefits of establishing professional learning communities. Largely based on the publications of Richard DuFour and Robert Eaker, this workshop will provide you with resources to build PLCs in your school or district. We will explore how to create teams, establish norms and a vision, and use protocols to engage in reflective dialogue. PLCs are a catalyst for school improvement and the PLC model supports collaboration among teacher leaders and administrators. Participants will also examine online tools to extend PLCs outside of their school walls.

Objectives:
  • Participants will learn the benefits of establishing professional learning communities.
  • Participants will learn how to build PLNs in their schools/districts.
  • Participants will examine online tools to support PLCs and that encourage asynchronous communication among PLC members.
