CMSCE Videoconferencing VK20 Initiative
The Center for Mathematics, Science and Computer Education The VK20 Initiative provides resources and support for the K20 community as well as content providers to enhance the effective use of videoconferencing. K20 partners include the Garden State Distance Learning Consortium (GSDLC), NJEDge.Net, Rutgers University Center for Mathematics, Science and Computer Education and Verizon. Through video conferencing, teachers and students gain access to resources beyond the four walls of their classrooms. The VK20 initiative, with support from Verizon, has collated a resource guide of local standards-based programming for K20 that can be accessed via videoconferencing. These programs are designed to deliver professional development and excellent content information from experts in their fields to students in New Jersey. A Peer-to-Peer directory is also available with names and contact information for 100 New Jersey teachers interested in collaborative videoconferencing projects. The directories will be available online as a searchable databases so teachers can find appropriate programming by grade level and content area. The VK20 guide is also a gateway to national programming. Download the New Jersey/Verizon Videoconferencing Catalog! The New Jersey/Verizon K20 Videoconferencing Catalog is now ready for downloading. The catalog has over 200 excellent programs for students and teachers. Each program contains content information, grade levels, NJ standards addressed as well as contact information for the content providers. The catalog also has names of 100 New Jersey teachers who videoconference and would be interested in collaborative peer-to-peer projects. |
