and Suntex International

About this grant:
Suntex International is making available a grant to fund 100 class teams in New Jersey to participate in First in Math. Always at the forefront of mathematics education, Suntex introduced www.firstinmath.com and the First In Math® Online Team concept in 2002. Students play the 24® game online and improve their math fluency with this easy-to-implement program. The “team” approach is a great way to get children excited about math. More than just a fun activity, First In Math® offers substantive content that supports any core curriculum. First In Math® can be accessed through any computer with Internet access.

Eligibility:
  • Any class in an elementary or middle school (grades 3-8) in New Jersey, public or nonpublic, maximum 30 students per classroom. Grants are limited to two classes/classrooms per school. (Additional classes in a building may participate by purchasing First in Math classroom subscriptions.)
  • Each teacher receiving a grant must attend a half-day workshop which will provide information about using the First In Math® online site and the First In Math® tournament. The cost for this workshop is $25.00 payable by PO from school district. (If you cannot meet this obligation, please contact 732-445-0669.) The half-day workshop will be held on November 19, 2007 and you may attend either a morning or afternoon session.)
  • Commitment to “activate” your team on or before December 1, 2007 and have students participate until program conclusion on May 31, 2008.
