Mary Emenike
Assistant Professor of Professional Practice, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology

Dr. Mary Emenike is Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. Mary serves as the Director of the TRIAD Coalition within the School of Arts and Science’s Office of STEM Education. She collaborates with faculty members to transform courses, evaluate course transformations and interventions, assess student learning in chemistry and other STEM disciplines, and investigate the experiences of academic peer leaders (e.g., tutors, study group leaders, Learning Assistants). Dr. Emenike is part of the leadership team for Rutgers’ Active Learning Community and is a member of the Leadership Council (2019-2021) for the Learning Assistant Alliance. She currently teaches Introduction to Chemistry Education for undergraduate chemistry Teaching Interns, and has previously taught and coordinated the required, Introduction to Peer Instructor Education course for undergraduate Learning Assistants. Currently, she serves as PI on an NSF DUE Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE #2013315) grant titled, “Coordinating a Teaching Excellence Network to Engage STEM Faculty in Teaching Reform.”
